Binge watched this over a couple of days. I was a bit reluctant at first as I couldn't see Jack Whitehall playing a serious character. However, I was pleasantly surprised - this was a great series and well worth a watch.

Starring David Duchovny as well who plays a bit of an ahole but his character grew on me as it went along (I suspect this was the intention).

He does seem to have nailed the 'smarmy English guy on the make' vibe

Watched it last week - I suppose similar apprehensions re: Jack Whitehall but thought it was excellent.

Enjoyable.

No messing around with an ice cold decisive end for Duchovny but suspect they may not let all lie and look at some sort of sequel.

Not an easy watch but an excellent series all round. I do hope they do not try to create a second series.

For the few who could not imagine Jack Whitehall being evil, then try to imagine Tom Hardy playing the nice guy, hidden in plain sight.

I hope Jack gets more opportunities on the back of this.

I am the odd man out here as I found Whitehall's acting to be dire.

Well actually Pistonhead folk are by the look of things - IMDB give Whitehall a giant raspberry for his performance and despite some nuanced input from Duchovny and Houten (his wife) plus some neat direction it was all for nothing due to Whitehall.

Take a read......

I tried to like it..

I found the ending really predictable and a huge let down.

I thought there was too many people/stories/situations that went nowhere... I won't spoil anything for anyone.. but I'm sure you'll know the ones I mean if you've seen it.

I loved how central London was almost completely empty when the plot demanded it..

Yeah.... The main protagonist was just a bit m'eh.... wasn't really smart, charismatic, sexy.. nothing.. completely magnolia.

Not sure I get the point you are trying to make.

Mine - Whitehall/plot utter twaddle rest OK. Sum up what a shame they did not give it the small rewrite / recast needed to make it good.

We actually really enjoyed it - so much so we finished watching at 00:50 on a work night!

Quite enjoyed it, but thought the final few scenes were a bit contrived and nonsensicle.

But better than the other similar Netflix style series thst show promise in first episode but then degenerate into contrived made up implausible nonsense.
