Hi

My trusty A5 3.0 tdi has finally got to the unreliable point (had it for 10 years and it is on 158k) so thinking of getting something new.

I'd like

2 door coupe
auto
"relatively" new so at least able to plug a phone in and have a usb for tunes
petrol
decent go

I don't really want

white exterior
light interior

So far I have

Jaguar XKR 5.0 - a bit old and most are either light interior or exterior or both
Audi S5 - My favourite at the moment
Bmw M2
BMW M6 - could just about squeeze into a 4.4 what are they like?

Mercedes c43 AMG I know nothing about these!
M4 a decent one seems out of budget
Lexus RC-f Out of budget

Mustangs seem to either be barried or out of budget.
Maserati Grantourismo running costs scare me (i.e. disks and pads > £1000) .
My partner has an f-type so they're out.

I'm mid 40's and don't do many miles so running costs aren't a major issue

Am I missing anything? Search is complicated by not having a car and having to travel via rail/ ponce a car from someone!

Just need to look a bit closer for XKRs - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202511218...

Can't overstate how brilliant they are.

I think this maybe the answer and just hold out for one a little bit closer/ easier to get to.

True, I hadn't looked where that one was.

This one is with the specialist we bought our 4.2 XKR from, he's really top notch, and this will be lovely (black/red seats though).

They are if you buy Maserati branded parts from a Maserati main dealer.

You don't need to do this - buy them from Eurospares or Scuderia and the costs are much more reasonable.

Put your parameters in an autotrader search. I did this, guessing some of your criteria - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-search?body-type=...

RC-F is a great option, this one is a smidge over budget:

Well under budget:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202511097...

Rather than the C43 I'd look for the harder to find E450 Premium Plus, they're about 20bhp down on the 43 but it's a nicer place to be:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202509036...

Premium:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202508015...

C63 AMG Edition 125 with the performance pack:

Non PP:

M6 Competition:

M4 Competition:

4.7 GranTurismo S, these can be run for similar money to the XKR but a specialist near to you will make this possible:

4.7 Vantage:

RS5:

2.9 a smidge over budget:

V8 F Type:

The leftfield is the 3.0TT Infiniti Q60, these use the same engine that's in the new Z:

Thanks all for the suggestions especially ZX!

I think I may have to invest in a cheap car to go and view some of suggestions! (Love Love the look of the RS5 2.9)

Thanks, I do have a generic coupe search but seems to through up the same models so I was wondering if I was missing something that maybe wasn't on AT or my search was leaving out.

You don't need to buy a car, once you've drawn up a top 3 find some locally just to make sure you're initial thoughts are confirmed or your mind is changed.

Then just hire a car for a few days & go to view cars you intend to buy.
