Hyundai Ioniq 38kWh 3 Pin Charger Query
Discussion
Having leased PHEVs for a few years, I m now looking to buy a budget-friendly EV as a second run-around car. I ve always relied on 3 pin chargers, and for my usage that s been perfectly sufficient.
I m considering a Hyundai Ioniq Electric (38kWh) and wondering whether it comes with a 3 pin charging cable as standard.
If not, could anyone recommend a reliable one to purchase?
I'm currently looking at this one on amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Masterplug-Charging-Elect...

Yes that charger is fine, but they tend to charge at about 2kW/h so 17 hours for a full 0% - 100% charge.
In reality, you're more likely to do something like 20% to 80% so that would be about 10 hours and would not fit any off-peak rate offered by the leccy companies, so a proper wall mounted charger would make your like easier.

Depends on his requirements, both daily and long distances. I have used a 3 pin plug since May 2024 and have only had to charge outside the overnight cheap Octopus / EON tariffs twice. Both due to unexpected requirements. I've done 10k miles.
Had to use public charging a few times though when outside my range, at 10 - 12 times my home cost.
