You can pick any musician at the height of their respective career and combine into one supergroup. The caveat is that you can't have any members who were part of the same group.

Here is my example. Admittedly, this may not work as a coherent unit.

Vocals: Linda Perry
Guitar: Joe Walsh
Bass: John Paul Jones
Drums: Keith Moon
Writer: Jim Steinman

Just go and see The Dead Daisies.

And if you missed Chickenfoot, give yourself a good kicking.

See, I'd want my supergroup to cover a lot of genres including jazz / blues / rock so this will be difficult..........

Vox : Robert Plant
Guitar : Steve Lukather
Bass : Nathan East
Keys : Rick Wright
Drums : Steve Gadd
Writer : Donald Fagan

I think they'd cover all the bases

Some interesting selections so far with surprisingly few duplications. Hopefully we can keep the suggestions coming.

It seems that Led Zeppelin members are the best represented, which isn't overly surprising.

I wanted John Entwistle as my bassist but couldn't lose Keith, so went with John Paul Jones.

Agreed. I'm assuming Lemmy would be on vocals but either way those three playing together would tilt the planet off its axis. The drinks/drugs bill alone would stratospheric.

That sounds like I great start - for a different sound I would have Lex Claypool on Bass!

(as a side note note checkout out the Lennon Claypool Delerium - Les Claypool & Sean Ono Lennon)
