I've been on heart meds for the last couple of years Bisoprolol, Entresto & Eplerenone. My blood pressure has always been on the low side, meds are keeping it that way typically 90/60.

Until recently things were settled, now an increase in dizziness & vasodilation particularly with exertion. Doc has reduced the Eplerenone & I'm avoiding exertion. Dizzy spells are easier and more manageable.

Something else over the last couple of weeks has been occurring, difficulty breathing though my nose at night, it's not congestion it feels like inflamed nasal passages. Bizarrely a hay-fever tablet seems to help.

I was wondering if I'd built up an intolerance to Bisoprolol?

I know I need to revisit the GP, but I'm sitting here awake at 2AM and grabbing at straws.

I was on Bisoprolol for years but Dr. took me off it completely about 9 months ago.

My BP is stable since then and no withdrawal symptoms.

Doc reckoned drug is not suitable for the more mature chap. I'm 70.

Still on Entresto, Dapagliflozin and Eplerenone.

That's interesting, I hadn't heard that Bisoprolol wasn't suitable for older patients (I'm 67) my dose is 3.75mg daily, wondering if its a bit high.

I know Dapagliflozin is the gold standard for heart failure, (I think my older brother takes this one) not suitable for me though as I'm T1 diabetic.

Since being on Dapa, the rate of deterioration in my breathlessness seems to have slowed.

No side effects either.

Thank you.

I'm going to increase my hydration to see if that helps ease my vasodilation symptoms. (on the basis it won't do any harm and try the simple 'fixes' first) Even though it's likely to keep me running to the loo during the night.
