Who was expecting a random Wednesday to bring some really awesome looking Valve hardware? Kind of glad it wasn't a new Steam Deck, since I haven't long picked up a used ROG Ally and shoved Bazzite on it, but the Frame looks awesome and I want the controller as well.

Plus there is the Steam Machine that I haven't seen any reviews of yet.

I am very impressed with the Frame. First VR headset I actually want.

Found some fluff on the Steam Machine - https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/gaming-pcs/steam-...

Interesting, but I don't it will be as impactful as the Deck or Frame. Trying to target 4k with an older gen GPU is likely going to be the problem, it was fine on the Deck (or other handhelds) since ultimately the resolutions weren't that high, but 4k is a whole different ballgame. Does depend on the price though, and since it is SteamOS (IE Linux - Arch) that does mean you can do anything with it and potentially stick Moonlight on it for remote gaming etc.

The Machine and Frame look interesting, price dependent.

LTT now have a video on the Machine and Controller - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3FkuZNSGkw

Controller looks really good and worth a purchase IMO. The Machine is going to be expensive and I do have concerns about its performance but it does look interesting.

Are Valve going to stick it to Microsoft/Sony? I doubt it, but it would be nice.

I was pondering a Quest if there's a decent Black Friday deal but holding off for a Frame now. Which I guess was the point of announcing so soon.

Controller could be neat, I never picked up one of the originals but having trackpads on the Steam Deck is nice for some games.

Machine meh (and I suspect it'll be pricey) but then I'm not really the target market.
