I have a C4 with a m030 kit fitted.

What dampers with m030 springs?

I have found the ride good, my current dampers are starting to mist a little, so replacement is on the horizon.

Anyone with experience good or bad I would like to hear

Koni Special Actives.

Night and day better than the rest, super comfy at lower speeds and around town and firm up when pressing on.

I tried loads, B4, B6, M030 vs regular, and in the end found the Koni with M030 springs very, very good, with H&R even better.

I should add, I hated the M030 rear dampers, far, far too hard for 90% of UK roads, the B4 was a bit better, the B6 was just as firm, maybe even firmer.

I tried a car with Ohlins and that was far better damped but again too firm for the UK roads.

If you like how firm the M030 is at the rear, the Konis may not be for you, but if you want it a bit more subtle, a little more bite on fast uneven corners, they are incredible.

I ended up with over 2 degrees of negative camber on the rear, with around 0.12 of toe in, and only 0.5 camber on the front with 0.05 of toe in.
This gave me some nice weighty steering with the car going exactly where the 12 o'clock position on the steering wheel was pointed, and a very, very planted rear end that needed to be seriously provoked to get it to let go, so incredibly confidence inspiring on the road.

The H&R springs being progressive also added to it being compliant at slower speeds and around town, plus with the 20mm drop it increased the turn in, which is what the really firm M030 brought to the table, it was imho the only positive of having a damper that firm.

The Konis and H&R springs I think I paid £1100 for with some discount using the 911uk.com discount code. That included some 6.5mm compensation pads, needed for the H&R springs as they are shorter and can rattle around as the suspension uncompresses.

Good luck.

I had a complete suspension refresh on 996.1 C2 on M030 18 months ago.

Intention was to replace with stock but M030 but springs weren't available so went for H&R. In retrospect, I should have probably considered a departure from the stock Bilsteins when the mechanic called but can't complain with the result

The H&R have lowered and made whole feeling more 'supple'. Road driving only but the ride/handling is really nice.
