Anyone had one yet? Opinions?
I'm asking about proper motorbikes not powered push bikes.

I'd rather start my own threads than have to trawl through the millions of past topics on here but thanks for the suggestion anyway.

I'll give one a go in a few years to see how they have developed.
Not as a replacement for my ICE bike, but as a sensible run-around when I'm retired !

I've not tried one but the idea of going 100 miles and then waiting 30 minutes doesn't appeal to me at all. It would not work for any of the long trips I've done, thinking about refuelling every 100 miles is bad enough. As commuter bikes I guess it could work for people.

My enjoy my electric car but I've not tried doing 2500 miles around the Irish coast in it for example.

The advantage of looking is there's a lot of answers to your questions already:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

They're the three most significant I can recall, HTH

Cheers. I'll have a read through that lot.

Strangely enough I brought this off an Auction yesterday to put in the back of my Motorhome. Ride it last night seems fine pulls quick enough. And it even has reverse gear. I'm going to try and learn to ride it backwards biggrinbiggrin. It was cheap and only done 4 miles from new

I think they are great and have features you rarely see on a normal motorbike. I think that new honda has a reverse gear setting. Yes as per usual bikers will pipe up the same way the did about electric starts and then the elimination of the kick starter.
But who would buy a car without a reverse gear.
I think the whole thing does suit the scooter dynamic more, with the batteries under your feet.

I can see the appeal for an Enduro bike for green laning on, near silent and st loads of power...not sure I need 80bhp and 1036NM of torque though yes ....I think you can turn the power down a bit wink

120kg and 6 hrs ride time seems pretty usable....I couldn't last 6 hours off road biggrin

The trick is to get up to speed quickly so you get the benefit of the spinning wheels/gyroscopic stability. More throttle is the solution if it feels like it's starting to go wrong.

If you could video it please that would be great thumbup

I’ve ridden one of those, albeit only with 60hp, I’d love to try the full 80hp as even at 60hp I’d say it was totally unusable, riding single track it was great, and it makes you appreciate how much stick off road tyres go through as you hear them being ripped to bits!! Got to a long field and whacked it up to 60hp and it was insane!!

I would like to have a go on one just for a laugh, I had a ride on a KX500 around at an MX track when I was about 25 years younger and managed a couple of sessions before giving it back well knackered biggrin I can only imagine how the power delivery from the the electric motor must be ..

If I had more green lanes within easy reach I could be tempted for something electric. 40bhp would be enough and im sure the battery life would be near all day at that, more than most of us need. thumbup
