Hypnic jeks!

HI all, have been suffering for the last couple of months with jerking awake ( no puns please !) very violently at least 3 to 4 times a night. It has become so violent I wrenched a few muscles in my back. Incedible pain, so bad 10 ot of 10 the pain, writhing in agony and not being able to draw breath, very fightening indeed. 999 and was given morphine , didnt touch it , then fentanyl, brought it down to 9 ot of 10. Spent 3 days in hospital sedated and on oxygen. What an absolute s***e nightmare. Was given some co-codamol and amoxycylin and told to rest. Done the net search but nothing really conclusive about eleviating it.
Anyway, has anyone else experienced this before, how did you manage it and hoprefully control it ......................

Sounds like you had pneumonia as well. Are they any better now the infection is, hopefully, clear?

hi, I am afraid not, believe it or not had the jerks 15 times last night, they did find a dark bit on my left lung and a mild infection. had Fragmin as thought I had blood clot but camr out of hospital much better, seems to be going sown hill again. When I am up and about thru the day it gets better, only pain from the soreness of the night beafore. It only gets worse when I go to bed.........thanks
