Hi,
The needle of my VDO fuel gauge goes all the way to full. I suspect that the signal coming from the tank level sender is missing. I’m not getting any reading on the multimeter, which means no signal is reaching the gauge. I disconnected the green/black wire from the sender, and it’s the same.

My questions:

Where is the fuel level sender located? There are two connected tanks, and I want to check the wiring at that point.

How can I access it and, if necessary, replace the sender? Do the tanks need to be removed?

Thanks in advance for your feedback and experience.

Best regards

Hi, the sender is located on the inner wall of the right hand tank. There should be a flange with a few bolts holding in the sender. This picture shows the location.... not easy to see but if you zoom in on the right hand tank you can just see some of the flange.
