2007 TV - Budget 2025 tv
Discussion
I've currently got a 2007 Panasonic Viera 32LXD70 32" dumb TV with Chromecast. It works well as far as I can tell, and cost me £50 on Gumtree a decade ago!
The problem is that looking at any new TV shows how poor ours is - walked through John Lewis yesterday and everything seemed 'wonderful'...
So we are looking for a new TV, internet only supply of content (network plug in wall and 500gbps,), Freely seems a good idea. GoogleOS also seems good idea, but no idea how that compares to other OS's. Happy to add a soundbar or speakers if needed (Gumtree full of them!).
A quick search online shows a lot of 'don't buy a nasty Vestel' TV and more, and it's easy to get drawn into spending dafty amounts. But compared to our current TV, everything is amazing...
So suggest to me a budget TV of 43" or so. Upto £400

Probably because all the ones in the shop are set to "shop" mode which whacks up the brightness to make them all look amazing but it's not what you want in your living room.
The next TV I buy will be a Panasonic because the one I have has lasted me 13 years and still works fine, and as far as I understand it the more expensive Panny sets are still made to a good standard (the cheaper ranges maybe not so much).
But in your price range I think something from Panasonic, Sony, LG or Samsung would be the brands to go for to avoid getting one that was built to break one day after the warranty expires. If you look on Richer Sounds you could easily get a 43" LG QNED or Samsung QLED for within your budget, no idea how those work but as I understand it they are not quite as good as OLED but better than bog standard LED.

The cheaper Pannys are often rebadged Vestel sets. Made in Turkey. Sony are still a good shout as well
This one on offer at your price with 5 year guarantee
