Met him once many moons ago, true gentleman.

RIP Quentin, part of my Top Gear memories.

Oh no! Brings back Many a childhood memory of watching the Original Top Gear.

Always came across as quite genuine as well. I especially enjoyed his section on buying second hand motors and trying to avoid getting a lemon!

RIP

Very sad news, despite many I know always writing him off as being smarmy I never thought so - enjoyed his work very much.

68 feels like no age at all these days.

I really enjoyed watching his segments on the various car programmes he did. He came across as a decent chap. RiP

Wow, never really a fan per se, but enjoyed his presenting style.

Gutted. Lovely bloke, from what I saw on TV.

There's a few vids on YouTube that I quite enjoyed.

RIP.

Very sad to hear this - liked him as a presenter and he always came across as a really nice bloke. Although people talk fondly about the Top Gear era with Clarkson/Hammond/May personally I've always thought the programme was at its best when Willson, Tiff Needell and VBH were part of the team.

Sad news he was a true word smith and was perfect on old TG. It was a shame he did not feature on the new or GT. 68 is no age and lung cancer is an awful illness

Lung cancer apparently.

Remember that series he did with Jodie Kidd? She was awful in the "to camera" pieces, got a lot better since.

His writing was excellent. Anyone who can fit the word 'vituperative' into a column in a monthly motoring mag is alright by me. Sad loss.

A brilliant journalist. Enjoyed his TG stuff in the pre Clarkson reboot era.

Some say he was actually a lot older, but he'd rolled the numbers back a few times.....

Sad news.

I remember seeing him, Clarkson and Tiff doing show on a stand at the Motor Show about 25 years ago.

Some great banter. He was asking people in the audience what car they drove and had some great come-backs.
