I am after harnesses for my 991.2 gt3, just wondering do the 992 harnesses fit just as well or do I need to keep my search narrowed to 991 specific. Thanks

I had the original drivers harness for my 991.2 GT3RS which in 2018 had never been fitted.
I wanted two harnesses so rather than fit the old one I found a pair that had not been fitted to an exported 992 GT car.
I checked with Schroth and they are virtually the same thing so I fitted them and still have the old one …
So, yes the 992 GT harnesses fitted my 991.2 GT3RS … but fitting is a bit of a B with the rear cage and seat travel !!

Happy days, thanks for that. Far more 992 harnesses around than 991 for whatever reason. Did you fit them yourself - I assume it's a seat out job?

Also - what's the craic when driving on the road, do you use the harness or the 3 point belt? I would prefer the normal 3 point belt so I can reach forward while driving, but I assume you then can't really avoid sitting on top of the harness?

On the 996 and 997 GT3/RS the crotch harness just drapes forward over the edge of the seat and the lap belts over the sides of the seat. Shoulder straps obviously sit hanging from the cage behind the seat. I cannot see the 991/992 being any different. They ain't that special.

Normal road harness continues in use. Nothing to see here. wink
