Dodgy EV Charger cable?
Discussion
Hi all,
Last week I bought my first EV (Polestar 2 - very pleased with it) and I am having issues with charging the car using the house EV charger & cable.
In short using the charger's untethered cable the car fails to charge and indicates an issue with the charger / cable. However I have successfully charged using the car supplied cable to the EV charger, and using the granny charger. This points to an issue with the charger's cable.
Before I condemn the non-functioning cable to the scrap yard, is there anything I should check the cable for that could explain the issue?
Secondly any recommendations on where to buy a 10m untethered type 2 cable from?
ETA: afaik the charger and it's cable have never been used before - it was installed by the previous house owner who didn't use it due to change of plans..

I had a cable issue, had all sorts of weird error messages from my Eassee charger and the car itself. It looks like it was caused by rain getting into the CCS plug on the end of the charger/ you could see slight corrosion on the contacts. My electrician said I might be able to scratch it off but to be very careful about scoring the contacts or getting too far into the sockets. Decided not to risk it and replaced the cable, no issues since.
Is this a 32amp cable with a 6mm core?
I only ask as I have a cable which kept failing - it's a commando cable. I took the fittings apart and there was nothing wrong with them - however, it kept failing and the car not charging. It might have been the pins or socket on the cable not being quite 'true' - however it was easily replaced.

It's a 32amp (7.2kW) Type-2 to Type-2 charger cable - not sure if it has 6mm cores. Checking with a multimeter the appears to be continuity from one end to the other across the cores - though as you say it's it might be the pins / socket not being true.I only ask as I have a cable which kept failing - it's a commando cable.
