Companies House new fees

Not sure what if anything they do for me (other than annoy me with Digital ID etc) but apparently they need significantly higher fees! Also seems a tad off as they are effectively a monopoly ...

"From 1 February 2026, some of our fees will be changing. These include:

incorporation digital filing fee will change to £100
confirmation statement digital filing fee will change to £50
voluntary strike off digital filing fee will change to £13"

The confirmation statement one is a real kick in the nuts

Way back, when we were in the EU, Companies House was blocked from raising its fees on the basis that it was against EU rules for a government agency to try to make profits from enforcing statutory obligations.

Obviously, EU rules don't matter any more.
