Hi all,

We will be travelling to Malta in a few weeks,

I moved my mobile phone contract onto the business a few months back, and it looks like I have lost the free roaming I previously had when this was a personal contract, I had this for years previously. My contract is with Vodafone, and the have a £2 per day roaming charge which includes 25GB of Data as a fair usage.

I am wondering if this would be better if I purchased an E-Sim for this 8 night trip, I will completing emails for work etc whilst abroad, and the usual streaming, Netflix, Spotify etc.

Does anyone have any experience with E-Sims and specifically Malta, ideally looking for Unlimited Data, and as little "throttling" of said Data whilst over there, a quick google suggests "ByteSim" maybe a good shout, just wondering if anyone can shed any light or options/experience on this?

Any help is greatly appreciated, or should I just stick with the £2 per day and that's enough.

Thanks in Advance

Have a good day all

I find you are best getting an e-sim for the country you are actually in, from one of their providers.

These ones that offer multi country etc are usually a lot more £££ and dont get the best service. I was in Bali recently and got a local E-Sim from one of their networks and it was brilliant.

I just pay the roaming charge. Less hassle.

Unless you are streaming a lot, 25Gb is sufficient, and £16 on the cost of the trip is hardly breaking the bank. Does your accommodation not have wifi?
