YouTube adverts even when sharing sons premium login

My son pays for the family membership with which you can share with 6 users.

This has worked fine on my telly for ages which also uses Apple TV as its main software.

Yesterday, selected Youtube as normal, then guest on the YT login screen as usual. Somethings changed as I now get annoying adverts before and during any content.

What's occurring?

If you are logging in as guest then you aren’t using the account linked to premium? Or am I missing something?

The login screen that pops up shows my sons and his daughters icons with an option to log in as 'guest'. Always been ad free until yesterday. I guess he hasn't the famiy membership after all and just shared me his personal login. I've never logged in as him as it would disrupt his favourites etc.

If he has YT premium then he will be able to nominate the family users and their email addresses. You then sign in using your email address and bingo.
