I’m currently living in Dubai and looking to ship my car back to the UK sometime soon. It’s a high-spec coupe that I’ve had for a few years, and I’d like to make sure it arrives in good shape without unnecessary costs or paperwork surprises.
I know a few people here have gone through the car export/import process between the UAE and the UK or Europe, so I was hoping to pick your brains:
Did you go with RoRo or container shipping, and how did it turn out?
How long did the transit and customs clearance take on both sides?
Were there any extra fees or inspection requirements in the UK?
What about insurance and pre-shipping checks — worth doing locally or through the shipping company?
I’ve been in touch with a few logistics companies in Dubai that handle international car transport. One that stood out is ReefShipping, mainly because they seem to offer door-to-door service with customs and clearance included, but I’d really value hearing real-world experiences before I commit.
