Recommended Reading

Just about to finish reading Carroll Smiths book “Drive to Win”, found it to be a good read and would recommend it to anyone with any interest in what is involved in becoming a racing driver, and to a lesser extent setting up a car for racing.

Anyway the point of this is that I’m looking for something else to read, so if anyone could recommend a decent book, that would be appropriate for someone looking at building an Ultima or just car development in general could you let me know

The other books by Caroll Smith are good too - Engineer to Win, and Nuts, Bolts, Fasteners, Plumbing.

I enjoyed "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell if you are interested in Turbo's. It is an easy read and provides a great overview on how it all works and how to set it up.

Ive had engineer to win and tune to win on order for a few weeks, sadly they havent arived as yet. any other sugestions ?

"Going Faster" from the Skip Barber Racing School is a very good read.

Try Competition Car Suspension by Allan Staniforth (ISBN1 85960 644 X) and Competition Car Downforce by Simon McBeath (ISBN 1 85960 662 8).

Even if you don't apply any of the knowledge gained from reading these books, they're interesting ot enthusiasts.

I would love a new release of Maximum Boost. It's a great book but it would be nice with updates about the new stuff that is possible today. However it's by far the best book I have found so far.
