Pallaesthesia is the normal mechanism for vibration sense.
It can be heightened or abnormal for lots of reasons. Some wiring, some chemical, some inside the brain.

Unpleasant vibration feelings are Hyperpallesthesia, or sometimes in allodynia (in which pain is caused by a stimulus that does not normally elicit pain)
Or Dyaesthesia, an unpleasant, abnormal sense of touch.

I haven't had it, but I see people with it.

thanks doc.

in my case, it started a couple of nights ago. i was laid in bed and thought my phone was ringing on vibrate somewhere near my feet.

since then it has been almost constant. a low level vibration/buzzing in my right foot. half a sec buzz, a second gap, then buzz again. it might stop for a few mins [or else i am not paying attention to it] but otherwise constant.

i will see my gp next week but i have a day's multi leg long haul travel tomorrow. anything to bear in mind on that? google [yeah i know...] says possible blood vessel restriction but i am thinking vitamin/iron deficiency most likely given where i have been and my diet these past couple of months.

I've had "benign fasiculation syndrome" for about 5 years...which covers everything from the buzzing you describe to myclonic jerks (Jack Douglas beer-spilling type manouvres). The only advice I would give is try not to stress about it, as that can turn into a vicious circle. If you can either ignore it or become indifferent to it, it's doesn't tend to be too hard to live with, and tends to come and go pretty randomly.
