DBS Manual Vs Auto
Discussion
Gents,
I updated my username around 10 years ago when I bought my old manual DBS (2009)
A decade or so later, i quite fancy another one over a Vanquish 2. (I've had a db11 and rapide s in between)
The dilemma is which way to go, manual or auto, I'm looking at 2 at the moment.
1. 2008 Manual, 60k, b&0, front discs done 10k miles ago. Interior showing its miles and tired, other wise a sound car. FAMSH. 2 seater
2. 2011 auto, 40k miles, b&0. 4 seater. FAMSH
In better cosmetic condition than the manual car.
Where would your money be, assuming both cars are priced similarly.
Appreciate your input.

Just interested in your decision, what is it about the DBS you like so much you want to have another one? Are they better than the Vanq2 etc?
The auto DBS are IMO better than the manual, I would go and drive one and see what you think.

Probably depends on your lifestyle.
If you're getting to that point in life where your knees might be questionable, or you deal with a lot of traffic, I'd definitely go Auto.
If you are only using it for an occasional drive and value shifting gears, then go Manual.
If it were my money, I'd go for the Auto in better cosmetic condition. Redoing leather and respraying panels trash the value of the car, and since they both sound the same, the looks are the next best thing about the car. If I had to constantly have my eye pulled to road rash and damaged leather, I'd be a little turned off by the car.

Id be looking to get the cosmetics sorted as soon as I take ownership if I was to go for the manual oneIf you're getting to that point in life where your knees might be questionable, or you deal with a lot of traffic, I'd definitely go Auto.

I just prefer the brute in a suit look ever so slightly than the more refined looks of the Vanq 2The auto DBS are IMO better than the manual, I would go and drive one and see what you think.

Personally, I would say it’s a no brainer to get the manual, especially if they are similar in price. Cosmetic touch ups shouldn’t be so onerous to rectify.
That said it really depends on the use case and how you intend to drive it. For wafting, obviously the auto. But if you intend to actually drive it then certainly the manual. The AM08 lives on revs and the manual is the much better and satisfying way of extracting performance from it.
