Hi.....is the 300bhp on stock internals? When, please, was the BBR supercharger etc installed? Is the car running spacers? Is there any service history? Thanks you.
Stephen.

Yes it’s on stock internals. No it’s not on spacers. It has service history up to the point I had the engine upgraded as it was then constantly looked after and serviced after every trackday

Hello, a couple of questions if I may..

As I understand the car has a full BBR exhaust, could you confirm whether the manifold is the catted version? Or whether this is a straight de cat system?

Are the original inertia reel seatbelts still installed or just the harnesses left?

Has the airbag light mentioned in previous MOTs been looked at/ coded out?

Thank you

Hi, please can you confirm if the car is road legal, addressing the following points:
1) the decat exhaust,
2)removed original seat belts and
3) airbag light being disabled?
Thanks

It’s got the full BBR exhaust — originally came with a race cat, but that caused heat issues, so BBR removed it and added a centre silencer. It’s now decat, which they recommend for track use. The car currently has 8 months MOT remaining.

Original seatbelts have been removed — it runs 4-point harnesses and lightweight M2 seats with PCI Racing subframes.

The airbag light was related to the seat swap — it’s been turned off and isn’t showing anymore.

Would the car pass an MOT as it is now?
Or would the buyer have to modify it first?

The car currently has around 8 months MOT remaining and is road legal as it stands. However, it’s worth noting that due to the decat setup, it’s unlikely to pass the emissions test in its current form.

That said, most owners of modified MX-5s with similar setups tend to temporarily swap in an OEM or catted centre section when MOT time comes around. It’s a well-known approach in the track car community and a straightforward swap if needed.
