Builders dumped tonnes of rubble on pavement and road
Discussion
And I mean tonnes, there’s way more than a skip full there. Presume they were trying to save money by shifting it all out of the garden today and then get a truck for a short time to load up and take it away. Hopefully tomorrow!
But pavement totally blocked overnight and right out into the road, no lights or reflectors in a dark street.
Worth reporting to police or council or just bend their ear about it tomorrow so they don’t keep taking the piss as the work goes on?

Wow, that is terrible. I would have thought highways would fine them for that. They should have at least put those plastic safety things around with reflectors and lights.
Whilst I am all for being laid back and let people get on with life that is terrible and I think a call to Police would be wise…..or get an old banger and roll it off there like the A team to make a point.

Sooo let's look at the evidence...
Carpets
Topsoil
Turf
Slabs
Anybody in the locality doing a single storey extension?
I think the OP is saying it's from the adjacent property, not that it's been fly-tipped by some unknown?Carpets
Topsoil
Turf
Slabs
Anybody in the locality doing a single storey extension?

If it is the building works in that location, I'd personally give it 24 hrs in case they've just had a really s

LOL. Yes. Yes, I'm sure they'll be right back first thing tomorrow to get it all picked up and disposed of correctly down the council tip.
That lot has been dumped out of the back of a Transit tipper on purpose. If it's outside someone's property/driveway then you'll probably find there's been a dispute and they've chosen not to pay the bill.

A few years ago, my neighbours - who I didn't get on with very well anyway due to their excessive noise - did this. They were having their garden re-done, and the builders dumped all the crap on the road - no lights, no reflectors - just a big pile of dirt / bricks / wood etc taking up a parking space.
I left it a few days, then knocked on the door and told them that they needed to get it taken away or I'd call the council. The woman basically started screaming at me and slammed the door in my face - but it disappeared the next day.

I'll send the photos to the council tomorrow (it's not police jurisdiction apparently) so hopefully even if they clear it up they'll still get some comeuppance.
It’s hard to see why the police wouldn’t be interested? Quite a few laws broken there and significant danger to the general public.Haha they've just had a dozen pallets of pavers delivered (onto the pavement) and the grabber that took away two loads of rubble this morning is now back and looks to be depositing soil (onto the pavement).
Police pointed me to the council, council's Roads department suggested reporting as flytipping and didn't really seem to understand the concept of obstruction of the highway.

Have you heard of Penguin books ?I left it a few days, then knocked on the door and told them that they needed to get it taken away or I'd call the council. The woman basically started screaming at me and slammed the door in my face - but it disappeared the next day.
I work for them and we are always on the look out for our next story to publish.
