Hi all,

Just looking for some recommendations please. I m using investengine at the moment for an ISA and have got 100% in Vanguard FTSE All-world.

Is this a bad idea? Should I spread across other etfs or is this ETF in itself diverse enough? Was considering Vanguard S&P 500 but not sure if it s worthwhile?

Any others worth recommending?

Thanks!

Hey Bud,

Toby Newbat and Damien Talks Money on YouTube are probably your best bet on recommendations. I think Toby uses Invest Engine.

Have my sons JISA in a Fidelity all world ETF via Moneybox which is doing nicely compared to the regular cash ISA it was held in until the beginning of the year.

Disclaimer: Not advice! Just thoughts of a random bloke on the internet.

Nothing wrong with VWRP/VWRL...Vanguard is as big as it gets and those ETFs are very well established.

There are cheaper All world ETFs from the likes of State Street (ACWI) and Invesco (FWRG) but you may pay a bigger spread on those two anyway so not sure if changing is worthwhile.
Adding an S&P500 ETF would increase your US exposure (assuming you don't add any other regions) so if that's what you are aiming for then great but Vanguard All World is already around 60% ish US.

My SIPP is primarily split between ACWI and SWDA (they are not the same, one is Dev markets only and other is all world so includes EM)....I split between the two as it just helps me sleep better at night but in reality would be fine with one or the other. They aren't the only ETF's I invest in (just my 'core' holdings) but if I wanted to keep it simple, would recommend investing in a single ETF. If you don't want to tinker much less is better (IMO).

Nothing wrong with FTSE All-World. Not an etf but Global All-Cap is a bit more diversified but tbh is no better in the long run than VWRP/L

I also just take the global fund approach, but have gone with the Invesco FRWG as the costs are very low (TER 0.15%)
FRWG currently includes 2314 companies

Thankyou, good people of the internet, for your replies. Really appreciated.

I’ll stick with the All World for now then, from the replies it seems like as good a place as any. It’s a 5-7 year term so hopefully time for some decent growth.

Thanks!

In terms of diversity there seems to be a huge amount of doom and gloom about the US market being overvalued and due for a correction. But then people seem to have been saying that for the last 5-10 years.

FWIW I've moved into VUKE and VERX. I'm also looking at EM and bonds

I keep an chunk in gold as well. Blackrock Gold & General has done very well. I'm sure Vanguard offer something similar.
