Hi all,

Bit of advice for a new Roma owner ( pics to follow).

Where are people insuring their cars, and what kind of cost per year? I am 60, car garaged in the Cotswolds, but I appreciate all quote are different.

I have multipolicy with Admiral for my other cars, waiting on them to see if they can quote, but a bit concerned the policy might not be sensible on a Ferrari.

Any help welcome

My Pista is with Locktons ans I have used it on track annd they cover FOC track days. Are you a member of the Ferrari Owners Club?

I've got my 488 on a multi car policy with Admiral and they were the most competitive by a mile.

Only you can decide if you are comfortable with Admiral for your Ferrari - many are - many aren't - for some there is no choice as so many insurers now insist on previous supercar ownership

I haven’t checked yet, but do they allow main dealer approved repair centres for any damage ?

If that’s the case I’ve always found them helpful , but never made a claim - touch wood !

Me.
Used to love them for their pricing, particularly on multi car.
Then came claim day................

We've got a multicar with Admiral and when we got the 355 I contacted loads of specialists and they were all approx £1k - contacted Admiral more out of curiosity and their quote was approx £280 with an agreed valuation. Similar age to you and living in North Somerset so probably similar insurance risk profile. Good luck.

I’m with Saga with my Maserati which seems reasonable at £198 a year.

I can't comment on the insurance for the Roma, I've only got Ferrari quotes I'm case I win the lottery. smile Surprisingly only a couple of hundred quid more than my sub £5k hot hatch.

I don't doubt you at all and this sounds like something insurer's would do but this is silly and a proper catch 22. We can't insure your supercar because you've never had a supercar before, but you can't have a supercar without insurance.

I heard some horror stories about Admiral, one in particular a 355 crashed in France I think, Admiral wanted to use their std repairer and secondhand parts also they don't or didn't do agreed value, noting Reggie's post suggesting they do

I'm with Lockton, think it's pretty reasonable at £2.5k for 458 Spider, FF, Discovery, BMW M135i and a heavily modified Cooper S, all agreed value and trackday cover for the Ferraris on FOC days

Im with admiral for my 458 and its very good value. However - the windscreen is NOT covered for a genuine replacement. The OEM screen is £3k,
I’ve been told. My plan had been to protect
It with a screen version of ppf. But I’ve not got around to that.

Had a claim with Admiral last month on my Porsche, somebody hit and drove off.
Fab to deal with, agreed straight to Porsche approved, just missed out on runabout courtesy car but body shop supplied free anyway.
Agreed and repaired within 2 weeks. No impact on my no claims, all UK call centre based and no extended wait in the phone.
Speak as you find and all that…..
Have my 812 with Lockton but will likely switch next renewal.

Always good to hear the positives.
