Hi,
Can you say a bit more about what has happened since the last dealer service in 2015? The listing suggests no servicing for 10 years? I can see from MOT history that the car was still in use for most of that time so curious about the apparent absence of any servicing for a decade?
Thanks, Ian

Hi, please can you confirm when the last major service was undertaken, including belt changes? Thanks

I suspect if the last major service was back in 2015 then the buyer should factor in a major service, including belt changes.

Pistonheads has a make an offer facility. I don't really want to get drawn into a discussion on prices. But for the sake of closing the comment, NO I will not take an offer outside of Pistonheads. cheers.

Can you provide receipts for the parts used for the self service in july this year and the balance of that service today cheers

Also useful would be the invoices or receipts backing up stamps in service book

Cheers

Invoice sent to PH, and a copy attached here for now.

The service book wasn't stamped as they forgot.... Not impressed, but I'll get it stamped at some point when I pass.

Additionally:

Most invoices are on here from looking, and there are invoices in the file for:

Bell and Colvill 2/6/2005 940 miles.

Dream machines 24/06/2006 - 1,267 miles.

Castle TVR serviced it at sale, 22/10/2010 - 7,900 miles

Then receipts for Classic Modern Sports for 8/9/2010 (around 7,996 miles), 13/04/2011 (around 13,943 miles) & 04/04/2014 (around 19,741 miles) based on MOTs being done around the same time as the service.

Then Silverstone Lotus did a major service (£735.36), inc new oil coolers and AC condenser, but only had job number and confirmation from the garage that it was there. RWEF EVO01891.

The previous owner told me he regularly serviced it during his 10 years of ownership, specifically in 2017 and 2019, but I only had his word.

Then I did a service in July 2025, as per the advert, and receipts are in my folder and on here. (Engine oil, Gear Oil, oil and air filter, spark plugs and everything I've ever done to it.

There are also the receipts for the car sales throughout its life.

There is a new, clear bra that will come with the car for the new owner to install, as well as a custom fitted weather-proof cover.

Cheers. J.

The previous owner had been self-servicing, but didn't give me any receipts.

cheers for the earlier responses re servicing
roughly how many track days since youve had it and any ideas on previous track time
its very well specced for track so keen to see if its had any track-related mishaps resulting in material damage?
any history or leakdown / compression testing or had a borescope done?
cheers

The car and not been tracked me or the previous person who had it for 10 years never tracked it, he bought it to tour Italy and the Alps, then as you can see from the miles, it's not really don't much from when he had it. The car is mint and has just had a full health check. I've sold 60 cars over the last 20 years and never had to do a bore scope check. Especially on a bullet proof 1.8 Toyota engine, however that being said, I'll see what I can do. The car has had the front resprayed by me as it had stone chips. There is no damage on it at all.

I have a viewing tomorrow, so. I can ask them. To comment, if they don't mind.

At the risk of now getting a barrage of questions....

Please note this is what I saw this morning; this is not an independent view, obviously.

Notes: Compression results are very close across all 4 cylinders, and all are well above 200PSI. The fluid down the side of the bores is fuel, as I had not disconnected the fuel pump when cold cranking.

The guy before me had it for 10 years. Sold as he had twins. I got it as a toy / mini project to replace my E92 M3, and am looking to sell as, although I love it, it's just too impractical for me. For previous history, I'd recommend hpi or car vertical check for anything else. Regards J

Looking at the history that I have.

The car was sold new: 7/10/2004
The 2nd owner bought it 17/11/2006 @ 2601 miles (with a Full Lotus Used Car Check)
Then the 3rd owner bought it 22/04/2010 @ 7900 miles (inc a service)
Then the fourth owner bought it on 24/09/2014. @ 22,000 miles

Please note the car is still HPI clear.

Hope this all helps.

super useful thanks
since buying it from here https://www.carandclassic.com/auctions/2004-lotus-...
have any of the bits in the "condition" section been tended to esp splitter and nsf wheel arch?
do you know if it was ever used as a rental or track - the stick on pads on the underside are not factory given location suggest could have been caused by kerb grazing on track. do you know whats under them?
cheers
