1st world problems and all that but how do you lot get in and out of them without pulverizing that low down side bolster? It is slightly easier getting in as you can kind of drop inwards; getting out though is a nightmare, seems no other way than to swing legs around, sit on the bolster then wobble out like an absolute fool! I can't see the seat lasting 10k miles let alone say 50k ...

I don't have them but am told egress on the driver side is easier as you use the steering wheel as a lever, left hand on wheel, right hand on door sill.

I had them in a g80 and wouldn’t bother again. They were really comfortable but a proper pain to get in and out of. Left hand on the steering wheel and kind of jack yourself up with your right hand on the sill, and up and over the bolster but it’s hard to avoid rubbing the top at least a little bit.

I hardly used the car really and I’d imagine it’s a real pain as a daily if you are in and out half a dozen times. Will get the standard seat 100% if I get another one.

I have the standard "comfort" seats. Really good seats - decent bit more comfortable than my M340i seats - despite the M3 being stiffer.

I think oddly I've always got in and out my cars with the 'method' people use to get in and out of the buckets. So when I tried the buckets at the dealership I didn't think they were that big a deal getting in and out. It does appear the bolsters wear quick though as you've suggested if not careful.

I felt too tight in the buckets for my build. I'm about 95kg, more or less 5'11''. I've got a fairly broad back and chunky legs. It was the back rest that annoyed me the most - felt like I was too big for the seat too small for me on the upper half.

Interestingly one of the dealers I visited had said when the cars were brand new they preordered a bunch with the buckets and were surprised they didn't sell as quickly as they thought. I think because it's a real 50/50 with who gets on with them or not.

RHD drive and I've kind of sussed it getting out - right hand on wheel, left hand on central armrest bit, right leg lodged in footwell; hoist yourself upwards and reverse out of the car left leg / bum first. If anyone is watching then you do look like an absolute tt unfortunately!

Such a shame as other than that I really love the seats.

Right hand on sill left hand on wheel... push up with right hand and then swing left leg over bolster and get out. Avoids touching bolster entirely but not exactly elegant.

All these advanced techniques for egress, I suppose only works if the door is fully open, and not if someone parks close to you/in a narrow garage that only allows 1/4 opening?
