Lovely car.

Is it just the light or has the passenger door been resprayed? Image 6 the colour looks vs the front wing.

Thank you! It's a great car but difficult to value due to the mileage and not many 997.2 to compare it against in the market, so the PH Auction felt like the right way to find it's actual value.

The door has never been painted to my knowledge or during my ownership. I can see what you mean but I believe it's just the way the light was reflecting on the surfaces / wings etc. There is another a picture that didn't make the advert that was taken later when the sun was not shining if this helps.

Please feel free to come and have a look in person if you are interested in bidding.

Out of curiosity, what is the USB connector dangling from behind the PCM into the drivers footwell?

Shortly after I got the car, i had the Mr12 Volt upgrade to the stereo fitted to enable wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto - which was a game changer to have modern Google Maps navigation and Podcasts working through the original radio touchscreen!

The USB is connecting point if want to run Apple CarPlay or Android Auto via a wired connection to charge the device at the same time. The cable tucks away behind the centre console carpet but I didn't realise it wasn't hidden for the photos.

Thanks! I'd owned a 996 C4S and a 981 Cayman PDK - I loved the versatility and drive of the 996 and wanted the worry free DFi engine and PDK transmission from the more modern 981, hence why I bought a 997.2 PDK

As volume of 997.2 seems much lower than 997.1, I focused on getting the colour, spec and condition right, rather than seeking out specifically a base Carrera or Carrera S or 4S model.

The PDK gear changes are smooth, no loss of power? Spark plugs should be changed every 4 years, I can only see last time was 2018 at Bristol OPC, is that correct, 7 years ago and 20k miles ago?

I can confirm that there is no loss of power and the PDK gearbox changes gears smoothly from my experience of dual clutch transmissions - i'm basing that from experience previously owning a PDK Cayman (981) and DSG equipped Golf GTi.

Spark plugs - Within the documents section, Image 284 is a receipt for 6x spark plugs which has a hand note added to say they were fitted Jan 2020 @ 82k miles. I do not have further information of this other then what has been provided but this is consistent with the prior owner documenting other parts receipts and when they were fitted in the paperwork file. A screenshot to show that receipt is below from the documents section.

Thanks, so new set due 2024. I notice from the options ordered, the sports exhaust was not a factory, but a retrofit, do you know when and by whom it was done? Thanks

It does look stunning in the sunlight, have to admit I am biased as I have its twin in the garage.

A C4S, same year, same colour, same wheels, manual box with half the mileage.

The backdrop looks perfect for the photos, where is it?

C4S is lovely looking car with the widebody shape - I imagine you're watching mine to see what the 997.2 generation might make!

The photographer suggested the location, it's about 5-mins round the corner from me and on a Sunday it gave the impression of a barn courtyard but it's actually an electrical place normally.

I've had a few DMs asking me why i am selling the car; It's always been a second car as we have a company car for the normal family/daily stuff but the Government are making changes to the way my company car scheme works, i am going to end up having two EVs or effectively take a pay cut because of the benefit in kind tax implications.

My wife has enjoyed driving it, I've loved taking my son out in it but keeping it and having 3 cars on the driveway makes no sense. While i'm personally invested in the auction, i've not been able to gauge what a 997.2 Carrera with circa 97k miles like mine is worth. There aren't many with the same spec in the classifieds and the spread of valuations i got across the 3rd party sites was wild.

So it will be interesting for observers to watch i'm sure but more nerve wracking for me!

Whatever your goes for it will be an interesting marker, I think the 997.2 is a sweet spot as it is still quite small with hydraulic steering and no nanny state.

The 2008 financial crash really limited the numbers of 997.2 cars that were sold.
