Why is the car temp running far too high when the engine is in idle??

Thanks for your question.

The temperature is sitting in between the blue and red zones as it should be - c.90 degrees. The position of normal operating temperature on the gauge certainly concerned me when I first bought the car, but upon reading the gauge properly it’s perfectly normal.
