Best way to ask someone to let me get on with my job

I am the new secreary of a local club, The previous sec ,is a treasuer and assisting me whn i ask for it, However the new chairman want to see every letter minutes etc before they are sent out, and is now sending notes telling me what to put in letters and minutes, in effect he is doing my work

I want to tell him to wind his neck in and let me get on with the job i was asked to do....but nicely

I want to say something along the lines of Thanks for the input, will use it if neceesary but without telling him to keep his nose out of it and do his job.
My wife has an expression ...Wait until i fall over before you pick me up, but are there any other ways of doing it?
