EGR valvue problems on a 2010 (2011MY) S212 E350CDI
Discussion
We've got a problem with EGR valve actuator on one bank of the Mrs' Merc.
We're away from home currently (of course) we've had a local garage read the fault codes to know where the problem is & we've got it booked into our local garage to have the issue resolved when we get home.
At the moment the car's behavior is pretty random, it might work OK, or it might start OK and then play up. When it's playing up if feels like it's lacking power and it tends to stay in low gears so you might be doing 2500RPM @ 30MPH!
I was wondering whether there's a fuse I can pull out to disable to EGR valve actuator, I'm guessing that sometimes when it opens it isn't closing again and then it's flooding the engine with exhaust gas when it could do with air & fuel.
Anyone else experienced this?
Any thoughts?

There isn't a fuse you can pull - it will have to be disabled in the ECU. And that could be a proper ballache, depending where your ECU is fitted. Mine is in the drivers side wheel arch, behind the arch liner. And it needed removing every time it needed flashing to remove EGR and swirl flaps as writing to it in situ was disabled.
I don't know what availability of spares is like now - I went down the delete route as there was no estimated delivery date for the actuator or the valve last year. And the codes don't tell you which is faulty...
Good luck.
