After another Max demonstration of How To Be a Grand Prix Driver, we're in Singapore and the only track Red Bull has yet to win on. This will be a litmus for the rest of the season; if the upgraded RB21 can win here, after Monza and Baku it can win anywhere and the McLaren drivers have a fight on their hands for the WDC.

Oscar and Lando will need to focus on not making any mistakes, but that's easier said than done in the humidity of Singapore and the lack of run-off.

Remember it's a night race, and FP1 and FP3 are basically meaningless as they are held in daylight conditions.

Here's to a great race. Lando goes well here but I think Max will take it.

Date(s): Friday 3 to Sunday 5 October 2025.

UK Broadcast Timings (and track time)

All sessions are live on Sky F1. Channel 4 is showing highlights of all competitive sessions.

Ooh, thanks PiaP! Early-up this week smile

I’ll be living in a field in Somerset on Sunday, so not sure I’ll have a screen to hand. I usually enjoy Singapore, so look forward to catching the highlights on Monday smile

Gone for Oscar as I've got 0% so far this year in the hope it closes the drivers championship up so the run in is a cracker.

Thank you PiaP smile

I am going for Max again. He seems to have found a rich seam of form and is clearly enjoying his racing now that Horner is gone.

Good early work PIAP!

I've gone Lando to keep the championship close (and because he won here last year) but suspect it might be Max which will really begin to liven up the end of the season smile

Thanks PiAp.

This is one GP that I'd love to visit..except I don't like the humidity..hmm.

I've gone for a firm Lando here. He won by 20 seconds last year, and a whopping 40 seconds to Oscar.

It's not a low downforce circuit, so I think the Red Bull advantage won't be here.

Oscar has come from being slower than Lando at Monza, and having the most amazing of shockers at Baku. And yet here we are at another tight, difficult street circuit.

But..who knows. It's a street circuit, so red flags/safety cars could well be the decider. Love this circuit.

I have voted for Lando to keep the drivers championship interesting and close. Lando won it here last year and I think he has a very good chance of winning here this year as well. I won't be surprised if we see a similar podium this Sunday as Singapore GP 2024.

Thanks PiaP

I hope it's Lando or even Max to make the title fight even more interesting but my head says an Oscar win. Think he will want to put a few wrongs right at Singapore.

IIRC this is the only race on the current calendar that Max Verstappen has never won. It s traditionally a terrible circuit for Red Bull, it s always been an outlier for them with the exception of last year when he was second.

I reckon it s probably between McLaren and Mercedes here, but can never write off Lewis after his Senna-esque qualifying lap a few years ago, on a track where overtaking is difficult.

There s also a severe weather warning for the weekend, especially for the Sprint, and there s a new protocol in place which might be activated, which in simple terms is an increase in the weight limit to allow driver cooling systems and extra drinks bottles.

Oh, and in case anyone was ever thinking of going to this event, a massive yes from me. A wonderful city and a brilliant event in total. The whole place comes alive for the week.

No mention of a Sprint in the OP?

The BIL has recently moved to Malaysia, I'm hope to go to this GP in the next year or 2.

Whoops, the Sprint is scheduled for next year not this year, my bad.

Singapore is probably my favourite city in the world. Take everything good about London, Dubai, and Hong Kong, and put them all in the same place. The only real negative is the weather can be a little tropical, and the bars are really expensive! They spend tens of millions on putting on the GP, and it shows.

I stayed 10 days around the race. There’s tons of stuff going on around the city in the buildup, yet also loads to do for anyone who isn’t obsessed by racing cars. The event itself is full of shows and live music for ticket-holders, and around the city centre everything stays open until 3am because so many stay on European time. On Monday it all quietens down as the circus leaves town, a good time to visit parks and museums, and I also stayed a couple of nights in that fancy hotel at 1/10 of the price of the previous week!

Thanks PiaP! Hoping Lando can win this and Oscar has a disaster..., so as to keep the title alive, not for any other reason.

Also, I want some close wheel-to-wheel racing throughout the race, with no SC and plenty of drama.

I've never liked Singapore. The first time I arrived there was after travelling for a number of months around India and, flying in from Calcutta/Kolkata over the pristine, groomed golf greens was a harsh contrast. I went to the Long Bar at Raffles, the Indian sector and left the following day for Penang, Malaysia.

A few years later I had to open a safe bank account, so I was forced to go there again. I still found it very sterile. I think I prefer a more grainy city.

Kind of hopeful for a Lando or Max win here, for the sake of WDC drama..

But in reality all Piastri has to do from here on out is survive each race and drive nearly as well as Lando most races and he's a winner.

I think both McLaren drivers would be wise to play relatively safe this weekend, neither can afford to crash out and the chances of doing so are higher at this circuit.

I like Singapore and this GP smile

Thanks PiaP!!

Rumours of a performance unlock on the RBR car are swirling but who knows in what fashion that may be, if at all? Typically a bad track for them so not expecting Max to be able to duke it out of the win.

McLarens showing signs of vulnerability but still clearly the best car, but could we see another disaster class for them? Accident taking both of them out on the tight streets?

Mercs tend to go well here so they could be in for a podium, or maybe a sneaky Russell win if the above happens and who knows with the Ferrari's.
