Hi all. Getting close to completing on a house that will need a renovation, which will mean it isn't easily liveable for a while. Looking for buildings (and I suppose contents - even though there wont be much inside) insurance. Anyone recommend a company that can offer. The comparison sites all tend to assume that you will be actually occupying when they provide a quote.

Thanks,

BTW: expected duration of works is likely to be 6-9 months....ish

I'm with LV, their website has a section about doing major works.

I think the comparison sites are of limited use for house insurance.

I use UKInsuranceNET for my unoccupied insurance.

If low value you might find something off the shelf.

In all likely hood you will need a specialist build insurer - mine was aviva for my self build - and the cost is high.
