The madness gets madderer....

239bhp and a race spec gearbox with N-1-6 layout.

Utterly pointless, utter madness but so, so achingly awesome.

I have a birthday coming.....

Yep, you’d have to be a proper swivel-eyed loon to use even a fraction of its capabilities on a public road, but as a thing to own . . .

I wonder if in years to come (certainly in the UK) we’ll look at things like this from our sanitised existence and wonder that they were available to buy at all.

I watched the 20 minute Ducati PR video this morning.

A lovely lovely thing. Never have I wanted sidepod wings more in my life, and I can get nowhere near a knee on the deck to make them even remotely pointful.

It is mad as 140hp wrung out in 3 gears would see enormous speeds….let alone another 100 hp

A friend got one, amazing thing, but it was way to much, he traded it for a streetfighter with the same motor, he loves it.
I had a go on the streetfighter, its mental aswell, but you dont feel the need to wring its neck.

There has never been a Streetfighter with the same motor as an R

It's $75,200 here in Australia. The exhaust system is $16,230 and takes 540 minutes (9 hours) to install. The larger disks with the little cooling teeth make the exhaust system look cheap.....

My 999R was $58,250 in 2003 so this new thing is cheaper in real terms but comes with less performance stuff (no forged wheels, exhaust system in the box, fancy brakes) and cosmetic tat (no carbon fibre bodywork).....

226hp with an Akra full system v4s.

Just read up on the difference to v4r….different displacement and different stroke…similar engine but not same.

Does the gearbox have some sort of lock out to prevent you selecting neutral whilst on the move?

I believe it has a lever that is used to allow neutral to be selected

My bad i thought it was the same, maybe the one he had before wasnt an R
It has got a different exhaust on it tho, anyway the point still stands, the thing is mental.

Don't all Ducatis have some system to prevent you from selecting neutral full stop??! hehe (900SS owner speaking from occasionally annoying experience lol)

My friend had the V4s on standard pipe which was about 210hp. I was chasing him on an RS660 and he crested a hill at around 135mph and saw the front come way up….amazing to see…he said it had loads left and my bike was just dropping way back. (Private race track obvs)
