What an I missing?
Discussion
The Polestar is up for replacement in December, and what I thought would be an easy task is turning into a challenge (first-world problems and all that).
We were going to wait for the new BMW iX3, but the figures are crazy, I can't think they will sell many.
We are looking for a medium-sized SUV, my pick would have been the BMW iX (in budget), but after test driving it, apparently that is too big
So far, we have ruled out the Model Y, any Polestar, Volvo (too expensive), BMW i4 M60 (too small), Kia EV6 (too small), Kia EV9 (too big), and Genesis GV70 (quite small inside).
We are left with the Audi Q4 and Skoda Enyaq.
What have I missed?
Terms are around £600 a month + VAT, six months up front and 10,000 miles a year.

No idea of the lease deals, but since this is an opportunity to shop vicariously: We were going to wait for the new BMW iX3, but the figures are crazy, I can't think they will sell many.

A facelift Ioniq 5? Or 5N if you know you will never want a tow hook? Genesis GV60 is a bit shorter than the Ioniq 5, but the wheelbase is the same as in EV6. Too small again?
Skoda Elroq (and other platform-sharing options from Ford/Cupra)? WV ID7 (I guess only a bit less SUV-like than EV6)?

MG IM6 fits squarely into that bracket, I'd be test driving one of those. Could get the 740hp 100kWh one for that.
That wasn't even on my radar
We did look at MG two years ago when we got the i3s, but we weren't that impressed at the time. I will go and have another look.

This is going to be the main family car, and we struggled with the Polestar 2.

Ford Explorer/Capri, better than an Enyaq in some ways, handling, efficiency, space inside. Downside is a smaller boot on the Explorer or if you can get past the Capri name. This is going to be the main family car, and we struggled with the Polestar 2.

Depends on how badly you struggled with Polestar, but based on this comparison, you get a fair bit more space in an Ioniq 5 (even if the exterior dimensions are very similar). This is going to be the main family car, and we struggled with the Polestar 2.
It's been our family's "do everything" car (4 people + a mid-sized dog) for about three years and we have never needed more space (we might have wanted more space on occasion, but that will never change...). We excluded EV6 as too small, at least based on a quick look at the dealership, the difference in the available space compared to an Ioniq 5 seemed bigger in reality than on paper.

Its got more space than my Volvo V60 Cross Country and more than my previous Audi A6

I was thinking that if iX was too big, then Enyaq might be too. However, I see that the Enyaq is only a couple of centimetres longer, wider (if including mirrors), and taller than the Ioniq 5. The iX is a couple of sizes larger, now that I checked. All new cars seen as desireable are priced expensively on finance as some want the latest "cool" car and will usually pay over the odds. Give it a few months after launch and it will probably change with discounts and finance deals. Take the Tesla Juniper MY, albeit a special edition with a few options, it was over £1000 a month on the Tesla website at launch, the same car without a few trunkets is now about £500, and I believe they even have a few of the launch ones knocking around at much much better prices.
So... you could wait if you wanted one to see what happens.

Yep, a game I'm not willing to play
The ix3 is over £10,600 more expensive over the four years than an iX, which is nuts. The ix3 has a P11d of £66,000, and the iX £78,840.
Total cost for the ix3 over the four years is £42,729.23+VAT
We will miss out on the ix3 this time, but maybe I might replace the i3s with one in a few years.
Have you looked at the iX1? I ended up with one as a company car, I could have had bigger cars - iX3 (old model) or Model Y, but it was significantly cheaper on the scheme (got cashback). I was worried it would be too small as it replaced a much larger car, but in the end it's been perfect. It's fast (in 30 form), has decent range, handles well and has nearly all the toys I need. If we need extra space in the boot, the floor is removeable and adds a decent chunk of practicality. Downsides are it doesn't feel very luxurious, and doesn't come with keyless entry as standard.
I'd happily have another for what it's costing me.
Edited to add - that it's used for transporting 2 adults, 2 kids over 6 foot and a medium sized dog.

Internally the Ioniq 5 is massive. Easily fit in 4 6ft people. The boot is decent but a bit of an odd shape with the tapered hatch design. This is going to be the main family car, and we struggled with the Polestar 2.

No personal experience but they're rebadged from a more upmarket Chinese brand, supposed to be a step up in quality from the rest of MG's lineup.
I don't think they even bothered to change the badges. They've just selling IMs, still badged as IMs, through MG dealers. Gassing Station | EV and Alternative Fuels | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
