First off I'm no car stereo expert (or even close) and the car (fairly old) came with this head unit fitted. I've removed the stereo for a look but not seen anything obvious to me. There are a few symptoms which I think will help diagnose the problem, to someone that knows what they are talking about that is.

- Symptoms
1) Constant buzzing/crackling through all speakers even with volume at zero
2) Noise is present on any function - DAB/bluetooth etc. In fact even when the stereo is 'booting up' at first ignition
3) Head unit at volume low volume is louder than I would expect, moving from 0 to 1 for example is louder than I would expect

- Details
1) Car is a 2007 c6 corvette with Bose as standard, UK car.
2) Headunit is Pioneer SPH-DA160DAB

That's probably all I know, I've got the head unit hanging out just now but the centre console needs to be back together by Thurs. I've disconnected any surplus cables from the back of the head unit which hasn't helped. I suspect the headunit isn't interfacing with the Bose amp (?) but not too sure what I'm looking for. Saying that it was dark last (and late) when I removed it so I'm heading back out for a proper look just now.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers,
Dunc.

Incorrect interface adaptor

Interface adaptor connected incorrectly

Failing Amp

Bad grounds

Pictures would help. Which interface adaptor do you have?

Not the best photo but back inside now, I can eat get more photos as required tomorrow. I think it just connects at the black connector there to the grey connector but could be missing something.

If the Bose amp is causing an issue can the head unit go straight to the speakers instead? Not a huge stereo fan but saying that the reverse camera is good however the interference sounds is too annoying to leave.

Cheers,
Dunc.

Is it the car’s original head unit?

2007, no it's an after market pioneer head unit. All already fitted prior to me purchasing the car. I've done a bit of further reading now and I'm thinking it might be the way it is connected. More complicated interfaces are available to integrate better with the Bose amp. The amp is in the boot as well so not easy to bypass.

Any further info still welcome and appreciated.

Cheers,
Dunc

You need a PAC RP5-GM11 or similar.
