I have a QF 21 plate but it s coming time to change for me. It s been a fantastic car but I rarely buy the same thing twice .but I m severely tempted this time. The obvious replacement is an M3 if I change brands, and I ve never scratched the M itch. My last BMW was a 330D.

Anyone driven M3 and QF and can comment ? What am I going to like / dislike ? Haven t sorted test drive yet but going into Alfa at the weekend first to see what the cost to change would be .but thought I d get the BMW opinion here .yes I know first world problems etc.

I m talking a new one or nearly new.

Also, what else should be in the running. Here s the current have a think about in the similar price range :
M3, C63 AMG, M4 (unsure about 2 door)
Or go smaller ..then >
RS3 Sportbak, M2 (unsure about 2 door)
Or go mad and look at Alfa Stelvio QF :-)

What haven t I thought of or should I just think M3 ?
Thx

I had a Veloce and I'm now in a 230 so not quite the same comparison but the thing I miss most from the Giulia is the steering wheel, it's so nice and thin whereas BMW insist on really thick wheels. It's also no where near as good looking but no one cracks jokes about it being unreliable.

I’m in a similar position, had my ‘21 Giulia QF since new and am usually a serial car changer but I just can’t bring myself to part with it, it’s such a fabulous car and I know I’d eventually regret it when I move it on. An M3 is no doubt a ‘better’ car but I’m not sure it would make you feel as a good.

I am not a fan of the QF but my view of the M3 is that it feels a lot heavier and more “clinical” than the Alfa; steering is accurate but less alive. The M2 feels a lot more playful and compact than an M3, with much of the same engine drama.
