Some super interesting stuff there, we had a great time. It's really great to be able to try them all on one after another. I never thought side-by-side comparison would rule out some watches I thought I really liked.

Anyway, on to the pics.

So good.

You took a lot more pictures than I did. I only had a short amount of time to run around the show but it was a great selection of brands. I prefer the venue to last year as well.

Looks like a superb collection of brands.

Did you make any purchases and what have you ruled out now you have seen in the metal?

I didn’t buy anything. Didn’t rule anything out either, though.

Here are my thoughts:

I really like CW as a brand, very affordable and great watches. I'd love a Bel Canto classic in a few years.

echo/neutra make some really nice watches. The Rivanera is gorgeous, as was their ltd edition bronze chrono. Really nice guys too.

Studio Underdogs looks WAY better in the metal than in pictures. I was blown away by all of them. Perfect sizing too.

Doxa. I never realised they were SOOO shiny! The only one that suits me is the 600T, but it's a big mutha. I hate the looks of a beads of rice bracelet, but it's very comfy.

Wise is like Farer, really nice, modern looking designs.

Love the Hydro Sinn, I really like everything about this watch. The Sinn and Doxas had very stiff bezels, with the Sinn being much less grippy too.

Anordain and Paulin are two of my favourite brands now. I've always been a fan of Anordain's dials, but seeing them in the metal, the craftsmanship really shines through. Paulin's designs are also very interesting, the OHNO is wonderful.

Fears are incredibly nicely finished, but about 20%-30% overpriced IMHO.

Formex, I absolutely love their titanium field watch, it's so light and comfortable. I'd really like one but just can't justify it. I sort of want every colour too, really love it.

Same goes for Oris, gorgeous watches, at 60%-70% of MSRP.

I definitely have a liking for bronze.

Nice watches and decent pictures. Love the Fears models but couldn't justify the price, though I think they're worth most of their RRP.

Some lovely watches.

I have been looking at a diver for my 50th and had shortlisted watches from Christopher Ward, Doxa & Oris but struggling to choose (trying to come up with excuses to my wife why I need all 3).

Some interesting micro brands there I had not heard of. Agreed the Fears look nice but are a bit pricey. Loving echo/neutra - looked on their website and I liked everything they do. Hmmm… justifying 4 watches?

Thanks for posting all those pics, very interesting!

I quite like the look of Atelier Wen and the Peacock movement looks to be of good quality. What were your impressions of this particular watch?

Yes forgot to say I love the Atelier Wen, China make some fairly convincing stuff with San Martin etc but Wen are very much an exciting brand.

Very interesting designs, some a bit too Asian for me. But I do love that purple dialled one. Plus it was a prototype made from tantalum, which is super heavy! Felt great though. The finishing was really good on all of them, everything felt well built.

Based on my experience above:

I would never buy an Oris at full price.

CW's are really nice, and have a great warranty/returns policy if you don't like it.

Doxa are very interesting. A little bit overpriced given the movement, so I'd see if I could get a discount. The main thing is how I definitely would have ordered online based on their photos, but most of what I would have chosen really didn't suit me in real life, they looked way too feminine. So I'd recommend trying them on IRL.

Echo/neutra can do no wrong IMHO. hehe

They've come to redbar here a few times, I think what they do is pretty cool but it is a little too derivative for me and the bracelets don't have much articulation.

Thanks for that.

I could be tempted!

Looks like a great event and some interesting pieces, thanks for sharing all those pictures.

Does anyone else have an issue with rubber straps on expensive watches or is it just me?

Could you make the pictures a bit bigger next time rotate

I love the look of the white Doxa.

LOL, I was going to make them smaller, but couldn't be bothered modifying 40 links. hehe

I like it as it happens.

I first did it with a gold Breguet years ago, almost before rubber straps were a thing. I still have the watch...

It's a shame there weren't any accessory vendors this year.

Not at all, I like rubber straps. Some of the ones here were very comfy indeed, especially the Yema and Oris.
