I picked this up as it was only £16 on Xbox and looked interesting. Based around the history of F1 but not licenced. The tracks and surroundings change depending on the era, so the early tracks are basic Armco and grassy runoffs, later tracks have big grandstands etc. The cars are arcade/cartoon looking and the driver names are non licence silliness like Hans Troll and Bastien Kettel. There's more detail in it than an arcade racer, it's got track limits, tyre compounds, tyre wear, wet/dry races, fuel stops, damage, KERS and DRS in the recent cars. There's a lot to unlock in it with tracks and cars.

I did the first few career races lastnight and the handling will take some getting used to, I was at the back at most of them then 4 seconds ahead at Monza, so there's the cornering to get my head around. It's fun though. Available on console and Steam.

Yes, on the first race I overshot the braking at the end of the straight a lot.

This review isn't that favourable, content is looks great but the actual driving and racing against the AI looks bad.

I got it in Switch 2, which admittedly is not a great platform for racers due to no analogue throttle/brake. It's not amazing, but enjoyable enough but for 3 things:
1. Difficulty varies wildly. "Monaco" and "Monza" in the same settings are impossible, cand a piece of cake respectively.
2. Massive invisible walls in 60s/early 70s Germany. Only plus on this is all cars get affected by it too.
3. Weather is at least 50% rainy.
