Hi all

I’m starting to look at buying a TVR Sagaris and wanted to know where the best places are to speak to other owners for advice and guidance as I’m keen to build up some knowledge within the community before I take the plunge.

I’m coming from Lotus so am not sure what the best TVR resources are specifically for Sagaris’ so can anyone recommend what forums and groups I should look to join?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Trevor

I'd talk to Mark Cosh at Amore Autos in Thornbury. As well as selling Sags he also runs one, plus a very nice Griffith. He is a great guy, fountain of knowledge and always helpful.

Op has a good name for a start.

Although a bit laborious, a trawl through the relevant section on PH will probably throw up every issue, fix, specialist and just general info known to man.

Hi Trevor.
With a name like that you have got to have a TVR. I agree its worth talking to Mark and going to see him if you are in Bristol area (if you do, let me know and I will pop up if can). The Sag and speed six pages on PH can be useful. Also contact your local TVRCC regional branch, some are more active than others; for example while I am nowhere near Hampshire I have found they are very active and have a some Sag owners. I can highly recommend Sag ownership, there is honestly no other car I would rather have atm.

If you are near Bristol way, I have a friend selling his, possibly the best one around. Drop me an email and I could put you in contact

Hi Dave. I've just tried to email you but there isn't the option on your profile. If you could drop me some details over that would be amazing. Thanks

Thanks for the initial information. As someone pointed out, I definitely have the right name for TVR ownership smile. I've joined the FB group and been accepted on there so will keep my ear to the ground on any cars coming up for sale and ask some questions over there too.

In terms of the market and pricing, what's happening with prices? Are prices still going up or have they cooled off a bit and what sort of budget should I realistically be looking at for a good one?

Thanks

Trev

Sorry forgot I took my email off. I've sent you an email. It's absolutely mint, just had the splitter repainted as it had a small scratch...
This was it at Milbrook

Hi Trev,

None for sale at the time of writing, so unfortunately it is a sellers market.

I think the last couple of very good examples sold at HPC Classics for near enough £100k (£99k and £97k, but don't quote me on that).

Good luck and any questions do drop me an email.

Best,

Henry

I'm encouraged by your estimate but not selling yet (may consider it for 6 figures!). The big price jump will be in 5 years when the USA 25 year import exception comes into force. I'm already being followed on Instagram by 2 USA importers.

TVR Garage have sold a very nice Mk1 Tuscan S which they had up for $140k, so will be interesting to see if Sags maintain their relative price level, or if the early Tuscan engines ruin it for you!!

I know of 2 sags sold recently to US buyers who have stored them for 4-5 years. Bought now before prices rocket.

Thanks for sharing Henry. I have to be completely honest and say I wasn't sure where the market was on these. I've seen a couple go through collecting cars over the past 2 years in the low £60's so had maybe expected prices to be in the £70-80k's. It seems clear that's not the case and if they are closer to £100k then they'd be out of budget.

Already being imported to the States and registered in Canada bypassing the 25 year rule.

Hi Trev

I do know that there is one for sale in Italy at the moment. EUR 99k, so maybe £85k. I live in Rome so do keep an eye on the market.

As others have mentioned, the US are pretty interested in them and with only 211 made there just aren't that many to go around.....
