Tax free childcare/working parents deadline

Anyone else missed the boat too? Apparently the cut off date is end of August, and mine was completed 1st September so that means I'm now 130 quid (that i dont have) worse off every month. What's most annoying is I'm convinced most tax breaks can be backdated, but the only one I'm eligible for has a strict deadline and no obvious information about there being one. Has anyone managed to claim it by some clever means, aggressive or otherwise, or is it just tough luck?

I think you miss out on three months and not the full year though? Or did you know that?

Yes I was told that was the case. They've also said I can spread the cost of this term over the whole year too, so it could be worse. Although that might just be down to the nursery being helpful.
