Kop Hill - 20 / 21 September
Discussion
The annual festival that is Kop Hill takes place in Princess Risbough this coming weekend - https://kophillclimb.org.uk
The usual interesting mix of cars and other stuff going up the Hill over the two days. And it does raise a significant amount for local charities.

Yee Haw -- will be helping co-run the Disabled area at the starting line Sat and our TR6 will be in the paddock at th TR register area. Sun will be helping at the finish/traffic controls at the top.
If you've never been you absolutely must do. Completely run by 2-300 volunteers, has raised > £1.2M for local charities.

I visited on the Saturday (visited for the first time last year) and thoroughly enjoyed it, To stand behind the fence by the start line watching (and listening) to a Lancia Stratos in the full Alitalia rig straining at the leash to be flagged away is an experience to behold.
Apparently the guy who owned that had owned it since new.ZymoTech said:

As one of the stewards who run the disabled area right at the starting line, that car is a highlight to all of us as the defeaning scream as it sets off is an experience not to be missed!I went yesterday and had a great day out, much like when I went in 2022.
Highlight for me was actually nothing to do with cars, it was the appearance of the Lancaster overhead. My Dad's Canadian cousin was a navigator in one during WW2, but sadly never returned from a raid 1944.
But there was the same huge variety of cars and bikes as last time I went. Hope I can make it again next year.

It’s just the happiest, friendliest, most interesting event. I mean, where else will you see a wicker-basket-bodied Citroen on the same start line as a Honda CBX1000 and Lancia Beta, and have the smell of two-stroke from a Suzuki GT750 in your nostrils? It’s Top of my UK motoring calendar, certainly.
Have been a few times, I have to admit as an avid hillclimb goer the lack of speed is frustrating, but you do see loads of nice stuff, it is relatively cheap, and my mate lives in the village and played in a band on Saturday so it was good.. But I would not go again I'm afraid.
Went to Sywell day after, much better event, better weather, about the same level of cars, less quality, same price, and the Lanc did 4 flybys, that was worth the money alone.

It was quite funny to see some of the old motorbikes have to do the "downhill of shame" because they ran out of horsepower up the hill.Went to Sywell day after, much better event, better weather, about the same level of cars, less quality, same price, and the Lanc did 4 flybys, that was worth the money alone.

As someone who volunteers at the starting area, you really gotta feel for those who can't make it. I really appreciate the crowd applauding for their trying which is shows what a fun event it really is!Oh, and here's some Lancaster shots we took, from the traffic controls area at the finish line:
