Long story short...in 2006 I owned an S1 Elise, 2012 I had an S2.....had all sorts of things since including a 911 (which is another consideration). But i'm wondering from those who've owned, is there an appreciable difference in driving/living with an S2 Exige compared to an Elise?

Real World thoughts appreciated, the reason a 911 is still another consideration is they're quite pleasant on a longer trip which my 13 years ago memory tells me an Elise wasn't so much !

S2 Exiges do have a slightly different suspension and even though many see it as sacrilege you can take the roof off them too
Never driven an S2 Exige, but been a passenger in one many times. The cabin feels more confined, even though its not, due to the solid roof I think

General consensus seems to be that a comparable aged/power S2 Elise/Exige, the Exige will be that little bit quicker on track due to the LTS Suspension, but you really need to be someone who knows how to ring its neck, to truly notice any difference

Looks wise, its a personal thing, whichever you prefer

Minimal difference and largely aesthetic on the S2. I personally much preferred the looks of the Exige.

What is the intended use for the car?

Yes I quite like the raw looks of it. Usage would be highdays and occasional daily use, trips to Oulton Park (which is 20 minutes from me) and the odd track day.

I’d say a S2 Exige would be a good choice in that case.

If it is for occasional use and tack days I would say something lotus over a 911 to keep costs down and it will probably be more fun.

What about a supercharged S2 elise? Best of both.

Or something a bit newer and an S3 elise? Make the return to lotus ownership less of a chore if the spec is right as the more modern S3 interior I found a nicer place to be,
Although I admit the S2 Exige is more of a track tool.
