I m 9 months into ownership and I m still staggered by a few less obvious qualities of this car. For the record, my first Porsche was a Carrera S, which I only had for a few weeks before trading to the GTS (loved that too).

Yes, it s genuinely very quick, yes it handles remarkably but what amazes me just as much is how it behaves in boring mundane situations. Mine s shamefully a bit of a garage queen and as I haven t used it much recently I thought I d take it for a jaunt this afternoon. Quite heavy traffic and our West Sussex roads are crap but after a 35 mile drive, pootling along our now 40 and 50 mph roads, it was still a fantastic place to be. Even at normal speeds, it s a genuinely lovely car to drive and appreciate.

Incredibly it also averaged 35mpg and ok, I was travelling with a line of cars most of the way but managed a couple of fast blast, so that s truly incredible.

Can t be many near 200mph sports cars that are so versatile!

Think about some zunnsport grills for the gaping mouth.

Those rads don’t come cheap if a stone goes through them.

Great cars. Until the bloody turbos and engine mounts let go. Don't ask me how I know...
Make sure you keep it under warranty.

I joined the GTS club too recently and echo your sentiments, it's a beast when pushed and very civilised when not being pushed.

The previous owner of my car had the hassle of getting both turbos replaced under warranty, about 4K miles ago, so fingers crossed I will not have a reoccurrence of this issue as, I've read, the turbos have been revised to resolve the issue.

FYI get C5 sealant on those Centre locks to protect the anodisation :-)

They’re not near 200mph cars, they’ll run just north of that 😀
I enjoyed daily driving, European trips and a little track work in my 991.2 GTS and loved it.
I’ve just got into a 991.1 GTS and am back from a couple of thousand miles into Europe - always wanted to try one. The NA sound is so much better but no surprises there. They’re both as economical (relatively speaking) as each other and obviously the NA engine hasn’t got the low down grunt but it more rewarding up in the revs for it.
Steering better on the .2 but hardly night and day.
Both superb cars and I can’t see them getting any cheaper now given they should be considered as the last of a generation.

I have a 991.1 GTS 3.8 in Riviera blue. It is a real pleasure to drive quickly or slowly.

I have been across France, Germany and the UK in it and (other than the crappy concrete bit of of the M25) it is a joy everywhere!

Hi have a 718 GT4. It's a great car but with the carbon buckets I cant enjoy it with my kids. Parts of me wishes I'd gone for the GTS.

I think having a 2018 GTS is a massive bonus. I never really got on with my 991.2 after my NA 991.1. Mine was a 2019 car which I believe was the first 911 to have them PPF? It ruined the sound for me. But not much outside of a GT3 sounds better than a 991.1 GTS!

I had an hour in a mate's 991.1 GTS this year in Spain, when all members of the group I was in swapped cars. It was a blast and I really enjoyed it, amazing sound!!

Lovely and by far the best colour. I'm pondering selling mine - they hold value incredibly, going on what it's been valued by a few places, so rest well if it's a keeper for you - but then I give it a little wash and have to say it does look good.

Best non GT car if you need 4 seats occasionally.

I would love to get my hands on a RB one as I have a RB 991.1 GT3 and it would be cool to have the pair. So if you ever look to sell, please let me know!

As for the noise, exhaust note on the 991.1 GTS is better than the GT3 most of the time!

Didn’t they do a recall for the engine mounts ? I know I had mine done when I had one but can’t remember if they went or it was a recall .

Is the issue with the turbos rectified if they are replaced or is it potentially just a matter of time again?

As far as I know there is no upgraded part and they carry over to the 992 as well. But that's what warranties are for and the OPC one is by far the best one out there. 21k on mine and no issues and most will never have them.

991.2 is peak 911. I can’t get on with those black GTS wheels though.

You can refinish the wheels: strip the paint and clear lacquer them. I saw a really nice 992.1 GTS in the Porsche Classifieds last year that had done just that and it looked much better for it particularly with the PTS paint chosen on the car (it was a gorgeous Fjord Green). My GTS wears the conventional bolt wheels from the Carrera S in silver. Yes, they are bit heavier, cast rather and forged and less fancy than the centre locks but black wheels would have been a deal breaker for me - again - given the exterior colour of my car.

I do recognise that black wheels look very good against some car bodywork colours, but in my opinion black wheels are very colour sensitive whether it clashes and looks naff.

Yes I too would do just that. An OPC once told me that a GTS without the centerlocks wasn’t worth as much as one with. They might look good but five-bolt wheels are much easier to live with.
