Brought my new Tractor home today.

Didn't really mean to buy one, but it came up locally, and is the best condition one Ive come across in a long time.

The previous owner had a tear in his eye when we parted.

It went straight to work moving hay, and harrowing 4 acres.

Got a real soft spot for these old grey fergies. My 3 sons already very taken by it, the older two can reach the pedals so have had a drive.

Is road registered which is a bonus.

Fantastic, they're a lovely bit of kit.

No use for one, nowhere to drive or use it, but really want one and find myself searching for them often!!

Have fund and post more photos if you can!!

Looks like a cracker! We have a family one that my grandfather bought in the 50s and it still lives on today. I had to dismantle and un-seize the gear selector last year; everything came apart really easily. They don't make them like that any more. No heat required on any of the fixings, including the steering box. Amazing.

Looks in pretty good condition - no wonder he had a tear in his eye.

My very first driving experience was at the wheel of one whilst potato picking in Lincolnshire, I was no older than six or seven - a good start to a lifetime's driving. smile

I grew up on a small holding and my dad had one - spent hours mowing, ploughing, harrowing (and fettling) and loved it.

When we finally bought a place with land I was desperate to get one, but in the end I did the easy thing and bought a modern tractor, because I realised that while I’ve obviously got good knowledge about maintaining them, I also just needed reliability at this point in my life.

The modern tractor is great - better than a Fergie in so many ways - but also, just not the same - if you know what I mean.

As soon as I’m semi retired, I’ll be looking out fore one!
