So, we don't seem to have had the benefit of a decent Prime Minister for decades.

My old Dad used to say, "Those that should, very often don't and those that shouldn't, very often do".

It is obvious that our leaders are not fit for the job and shouldn't have been in a position to lead the country. Either due to being self serving, corrupt or stupid (or weak).

Who do you feel would be suitable as a leader of the country?

I am struggling to think of anyone. I do follow Neil O'Brien's Substack as he has an excellent grasp of statistics and interpretation. But I am sure he wouldn't want the job.

Farage. All day, every day.

Won't be a popular opinion on this thread, I'll probably be in a minority of one.

In the current cabinet - Shabana Mahmood

Of the current party leaders - Kemi

Ideally it would be acceptable to have a PM (and any cabinet post, but especially Foreign Office ones) in the Lords, but that went out decades ago.

More than that people need to realise that PMs who inherit a bad situation or who arrive just before the st hits the fan will naturally have worse outcomes than those who inherit a good one and what happens during their terms are not entirely down to their abilities.

To be PM he’d have to actually be in the country rather than over the pond mouthing off for Trump

I'm honestly trying to understand why you think he's the man to run this country... What skills or experience do you think Nigel Farage has that qualify him to be Prime Minister? He's never held government office, run a department, managed a national budget, or had to deliver policy in power. Beyond being a good speaker and campaigner, what has he shown that convinces you he could run the country?

Edit: I would have voted for Rory Stewart, ex-Army officer, diplomat, provincial governor in Iraq, ran a major charity in Afghanistan, and held senior ministerial posts like International Development Secretary and Prisons Minister, where he actually delivered some reform.
