Do you like a drink?
Discussion
I like a tipple like a lot of people, and like most reflect on whether I’m drinking too much. On average I’d probably say I drink 3 bottles of wine a week, in a social setting, with a meal etc, not downing a bottle to get pissed. I know this is far far too much, around 30 units so double the recommended.
How many units do you reckon you drink in a week? Be honest, don’t give an answer you’d give to your doctor…..

Not any more. I used to love a good few drinks but I stopped wanting to. Stopped spirits years ago. Lost the taste for wine a few years back. I may have a few beers a week if I have no very early starts, and used to work my way through ales and nicer lagers but the novelty wore off and I got fed up being bloated from it.
Love a drink, usually stick to Thurs, Fri, Sat…..having a 3 year old who is such hard work tests the resolve on Weds and Sun……

In regards to alcohol, I drink 90% of my units in beer, maybe more.
An average week will usually include two nights or a weekend afternoon out and I'll have 4 to 6 pints each time. I'd guess another couple of evenings I'll drink 1 or 2 at home.
I dont drink particularly strong beer, so it probably equates to about 30 units a week.

Been a big Beer drinker all my life , loved having a beer or several .
About 2 months ago , I woke up one morning and just thought yep, done with that now.
Read William Porters Alcohol explained and havnt touched a drop since .
I don’t miss it , I don’t have cravings , I’m just done with it.
Feel way better, sleep way better , more cash and losing weight ..
Pleased that I made the choice , and cannot see my going back , as I now understand how it screw’s you over .

Probably between 1-2 bottles.of wine per week. Usually consumed with evening meal.
There's clearly some heavy drinkers on here. Best start planning for increased dementia risk

I enjoy a large can / pint of beer in an evening. Or a couple of glasses of red. Finished off with a large whisky, although not had any for months - more of a winter thing.
But that's not every night, two or three nights a week depending how busy I am.
I like a drink, I just don't like hangovers.

I was drinking 40-50u per week, doc advised me to cut down after a heart failure diagnosis.
I've stopped drinking at home and don't really miss it, I enjoy a couple of pints when I'm out, or some wine in a restaurant. So below the current guidelines (mostly)
Generally sleeping better and less stressed. Because I'm not longer a slave to booze it's easier to do stuff and go places.
