polisher question
Discussion
john, I've got a halfords random orbital polisher, think it was about £30, Brought the paintwork up like new (and you can't damage the paint) unless you are an ape! You can buy professional polishers that spin at a far greater speed but you need to be very, very careful with them, you can burn the paint. Probably the best idiot proof tool is a porter cable......do a search on autopia.org for a british supplier.
Depending on what paint you have {age of car really} cellulose paint be damaged very quickly by burning it, 2k is a much harder paint, 2 b honest though even now when i do paintwork and have to polish a car with a mop i still sprinkle water over it to cool it whilst polishing! and as mentioned before about grit when finished just wrap a plastic bag around the sponge to keep grit out!
