So after some quick thinking yesterday have decided to sell the DB12 after 6 months - don’t get me wrong, love the car but can’t explain just feeling a little underwhelmed by it and have decided I want a car that I’ll feel less precious about and looking to purchase a new Porsche Boxster 4.0 GTS. Have had two Boxsters before and I think the 4.0 is a great car to have.

So let’s see how much I lose in 6 months even after having got £40,000 off of list plus some money back last month after a few niggles.

All the best on your next car move. I know this one has had you on edge a few times. I would be interested in seeing the sold result if you are willing to share.

Will you be trading this one for the Porsche at a main dealer, or selling the DB12 outright?

Aston have said they are interested in buying in - so far best trade offer I have had is £172 which isn’t that bad but let’s wait and see.

I feel weird doing this as I know we are meant to feel like we are in a fortunate position to have such cars but tbh I don’t really feel it. Kind of have that been there, seen that attitude.

Don’t know what I’d feel about a Ferrari mind you - let’s see

You think that’s what they will offer? Do you think it’s worth advertising this type of car privately?

Sorry to hear that the DB12 didn’t do it for you and the frustrating initial niggles.

The GTS will feel a lot more compact and useable - I considered a Spyder before the Vantage, but couldn’t live with the idea of having to stop to put the roof back up - think no hard shoulder motorways.

As Porsche have just announced they’ve stopped producing the Cayman and Boxster you’ll be restricted to the pre-specified ones they have on stock so be quick in looking and choosing.

Let us know how you get on.

….I don’t suppose that Vantage key cover and other bits are still around are they?

Surely your car must be worth more than that.
Is it only 6 months old?

My Lada Niva has recently been valued at 182 Pounds and 39 Pence, including half a gallon of petrol and it has a heated rear window, so useful when pushing the car in cold weather.

£172k seems very reasonable given this is £189k at a dealer.

How does yours differ spec wise?

Sorry V8 please send me your details again and I’ll try and sort it.

Happy to admit the car was listed at £245 and we got it for £205 - so as much as we can get will make the transition easier. Hopefully close to £180 would be perfect
