RRS P400 but no access to charging point

Stupid question I am sure but google isn't getting an answer. For the hybrid part to work, presumably these require a "proper" charge and regen only won't suffice? I don't currently have access to a charging point but otherwise the idea of short trips under electric and longer under petrol is appealing.

Yes they do need a proper charger, regen appears to do nothing of note. That said we took it to Switzerland and I managed 17miles of charge from regen, was driving in manual across one of the passes.

Had 2x p400 (FFRR and Velar). You will get SOME boost with no charge but it goes quickly. Regen is possible, but not substantial in town driving.

On long trips at "motorway speeds" that 2L is getting 25mpg. Hence why my FFRR was replaced with what it initially replaced: a 5L S/C.
